Designing Your Original "Near & Dear" Charm Necklace

These delightful necklaces can convey whatever sentiment you care to express! For a mother or grandmother, a charm with each child's name (written in the child's own hand, if you wish) and birthdate, plus a birthstone for each. For a wife or girlfriend, say "I love you", write a short poem, or commemorate an anniversary. For a daughter, her own name plus friends and pet's tags represent her world. Even appropriate as a "thank you" for a friend, teacher or nanny. Limited only by your (or your child's) imagination.

First, select your charms:

Light in weight and easy to wear, choose from 5 different sizes in 14K yellow, 14K rose, or 14K white gold; or sterling silver. Layer, mix or match as you like. We suggest mixing different sizes and/or metal colors. Each charm will vary in shape, as they are hand cut and made individually to your order. No two circles will be exactly alike. At this point, you may wish to print out the Order _Form (.pdf format), which lists all the sizes, options and prices.

Add your personal message:

Your own personal message will be written by hand into the Charm. From 7 to 70 small characters can be accommodated, depending on the size of the charm you choose. There is no machine engraving involved, so we can either match your handwriting as much as possible, or you can specify handwritten block, italic, script, or leave the decision to us. You may also use a small figure, such as a heart, pawprint, etc. Since your messages are written freehand, lettering will vary slightly in height, etc; which adds to the casual feel of the charms. Please make sure to include your phone number in case we have questions!

Add on stone accent charms:

Add a delicate sparkling accent to your charm necklace. These 5mm faceted beads are offered in each of the birthstone colors (see left) with your choice of gold or silver wire. January (Garnet), February (Amethyst), August (Peridot) and November (Citrine) are semiprecious stone; June is a freshwater pearl; and the remaining colors/months are Swarovski crystal. Choose a birthstone color or just what appeals.

Choose a chain:

We offer 1mm wide solid cable chain. This sturdy chain has a clean and delicate look. Choice of colors: 14K Yellow, White or Rose Gold and Sterling Silver. Available in 16" or 18" lengths (see photo, left, to see how this looks).
